The earthlings vary, as do their lenses.

At every moment, each wears a kind of lens

To catch a glimpse of distinct phases in their lives.

This glimpse remains unvaried through time

From the rise of mankind till the nonce

Is the lens worn only to see what we see?

Do they not show you something?

Yes, mine does.

It holds the worldly power, moulding life to its needs,

The ability to bring illusions to facts,

That can swap the place of Zion and Sheol.

But many lack the potency to wear them.
